Mississippi blueberries trail as others finish harvest
For the week ending Sept. 27, 2026, blueberry conditions varied widely among the nine states USDA rated weekly. Mississippi's crop stood at 38% good to excellent, 27 points below its five-year average, the weakest reading in the group. Elsewhere harvest was mostly wrapped up: Connecticut was 100% harvested with an 85% good-to-excellent rating, and Massachusetts was 90% harvested at the same 85% mark. Maine's crop, still only 50% harvested, carried the highest condition score at 96% good to excellent. Georgia's harvest was 63% complete with a 56% good-to-excellent rating, the second-lowest condition reported. No forecast or final production figures were available for comparison this week.
