Sweet potato crop rated well above average

In the week ended September 27, 2026, the four states reporting weekly all showed condition running ahead of their five-year averages. North Carolina, the largest of the group with an 18.9 million cwt final in 2025, rated 75% good-to-excellent, 25 points above average, with 37% harvested. Louisiana posted the highest rating at 95%, up 9 points, with 33% harvested. Mississippi came in at 69% good-to-excellent, up 13 points, 40% harvested. Arkansas rated 84% good-to-excellent with 39% harvested; no five-year comparison was available. California, Florida, Alabama, Texas and New Jersey did not report condition or harvest figures this week.
