US strawberry forecast rises 16.6% for 2018 crop

For the week ending July 12, only two of the nine weekly-reporting states posted condition figures. Connecticut's crop rated 100% good to excellent with harvest 96% complete. North Carolina rated lower, at 38% good to excellent. USDA's 2018 forecast, released in August 2018, put the national crop at 31.7 million cwt, up 16.6% from the prior year. California's latest forecast of 28.9 million cwt compared with a 27.7 million cwt final logged for 2025, while Florida's 2.5 million cwt forecast sat well below its 3.6 million cwt 2025 final.
